 Nigeria make a trip to East Africa on Tuesday to play hosts Rwanda in Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier to be staged at the Amahoro Stadium. Kigali's Amahoro National Stadium will host Rwanda vs Nigeria on Tuesday afternoon as both teams contend with each other for the top spot in Group D of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) qualifiers.

In the first round of the qualifiers, Rwanda played against Libya away. The hosts scored in the 16th minute, but Rwanda equalized in the 47th minute. No further goals were scored, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Additionally, Rwanda is competing in the World Cup qualifiers and currently has seven points after four matches.

Nigeria began the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a decisive victory. The Nigerians faced Benin and won 3-0. Nigeria is also trying to qualify for the World Cup, but their performance there has been less successful. After four rounds, they have only three points and are in fifth place in the standings.

The Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Rwanda and Nigeria will take place at Stade Amahoro on Tuesday, September 10, with kick-off at 15:00 Central European Time.

The 2023 Afcon finalists Super Eagles are the strongest team in this group which also has Libya and Benin. Amavubi will be aiming to cause an upset against one of the best teams on the continent, with quality players plying their trade abroad.
