Tiongson-less Dyip searches for first win
Terrafirma suffered its fourth straight loss last Sunday after going down against Magnolia, 124-103. And the Dyip just couldn’t get a break heading to the TNT clash following news that Juami Tiongson will be out indefinitely due to a partial hamstring tear. Tiongson has yet to show the form that earned him a Second Mythical Team distinction last season, but his ability to score in clusters for the time being will be missed.
Going for share of lead
TNT (3-1) is looking to end the first round of Group A with a share of the lead alongside Meralco. The Tropang Giga are fresh from a one-week respite after they defeated Magnolia, 88-82. One of the reasons for TNT’s success is defense, which has conceded 86.5 points this conference.

Ahanmisi knocked down four of his eight attempts from the four-point line to finish with 24 points, while import Glenn Robinson III added 20 in the Hotshots' comfortable victory.
The result brought Magnolia back to .500 in Group A of the tournament as they improved to 2-2. Meanwhile, the hapless Dyip fell to 0-4.
TerraFirma has lost its games by an average of 22 points so far in the conference.
The Hotshots set the tone by out-scoring TerraFirma 34-13 in the opening period, and they never took their foot off the pedal. They would go on to lead by as much as 38 points, 60-22, in the second quarter.
Stanley Pringle had 23 points and Christian Standhardinger added 22 markers and 12 boards for the Dyip, which got only 2 points from import Antonio Hester.
